How Wipro hires, and how to get in: 2026

Wipro took in about 7,500 freshers in the year to March 2026 and has published no fresher hiring target at all for the year now running. In the June 2026 quarter its headcount rose only because it completed an acquisition: strip out the 3,200 people who came with Mindsprint and the chief executive says the base fell by 2,500. Wipro took in about 7,500 freshers in the year to March 2026, and for the year that is running now it has published no fresher hiring target at all.

That is the fact to start from, because it reorders everything else. Wipro's human resources head Saurabh Govil said on 16 April 2026, when the company reported its March quarter, that there was no target: "We don't have any target for fresher hiring for the next fiscal. It's completely on demand, very volatile environment." The 7,500 figure for FY26 came from the same set of remarks.
