How Infosys hires, and how to get in: 2026

Infosys hired 73,512 people in the year to March 2026 and ended it with just 5,016 more than it started, so roughly 68,500 left. Only about 20,000 of those hires were fresh graduates, which means close to three quarters of the intake came through the lateral door. This playbook works through the published entry routes and their exact eligibility rules, the pay figures that sit in the filings rather than on the careers site, and what attrition and utilisation say about how much hiring is left this year.

Take those two numbers together. Gross hiring of 73,512 against net growth of 5,016 means roughly 68,500 people left Infosys during the same twelve months. The company also says it took in "20,000+ fresh graduates" globally that year. Subtract, and somewhere near 53,500 of the FY26 intake were not freshers at all. The campus programmes get the attention, but close to three quarters of the people who joined Infosys last year came in through the experienced door.

The single most useful thing on this page

If you are an engineer with two to six years of experience and you have been waiting for a campus-style test to open, you are queuing at the smaller of the two doors. On Infosys's own published numbers, the lateral intake in FY26 was roughly 2.7 times the fresher intake. The fresher routes are the ones with a published calendar, which is exactly why they feel like the only routes. They are not.

The corollary matters as much. Because gross hiring is fourteen times net growth, an Infosys requisition is far more often a replacement than an expansion. Write your application to replace a person who has just left a running project, not to join a growth story.
