No wage floor applies to you, and the closed list keeps growing
FreeOman has a statutory minimum wage, and if you are not Omani it does not apply to you.
That single sentence explains more about the Omani labour market than any other. Ministerial Decision 222 of 2013 set a minimum monthly package of RO 325 for private sector employees, RO 225 of basic salary plus a RO 100 allowance, and it applies to Omani nationals only. The ILO's review of Oman's regulatory framework records the same position in plain words: the minimum wage is not applicable to migrant workers. Article 88 of the Labour Law still gives the Minister the power to set a minimum wage after consulting the Joint Dialogue Committee, so this could change, but as at today it has not.
